Local procurement, far reaching impact.
We source world class materials - which just happen to be in our backyard.
Straw
Savick ensures the straw used in its panels comes from within 100 km of the production facility, minimizing transport distance and supporting local suppliers. Wheat or barley straw is purchased from family-owned farms that are committed to sustainable farming practices (such as low-till and crop rotations) with transparent sourcing records and rigorous quality-control checks at every step.
Lumber
Savick works with local building supply CO-OP’s to source SFI and FSC certified kiln-dried softwood lumber and sheathing. This results in a reliable stream of raw material that composes the backbone of our straw panels.
Accessories
Savick’s straw panels are robustly assembled with high quality membranes and structural components from leading manufactures including Pro Clima, Simpson Strong-Tie, and Rothoblaas. If straw and lumber is the meat and potatoes of our panels, these accessories are the salt and pepper.
Services
Savick works with local engineers, logistics companies, and crane operators for each project it is involved with. Savick may also hire local subcontractors to aid in the installation of its panels.
Employees
Savick’s team is composed of incredibly talented, locally hired people that support a highly vertically integrated operation (from baling straw in the field to standing finished panels on the job site - and everything in between).
